Common Questions
What families and individuals ask most

You're in the right place if you're a parent watching your son or daughter struggle with substance use or failure to launch and are unsure what to do next; a young adult who feels stuck, disconnected, or off track; someone who has tried other approaches to treat substance use disorder and knows something deeper is needed; someone who has experienced burnout, stress or an increase in substance use; someone looking for a place that has structure without an institutional feel; or someone experiencing feelings of isolation, retirement transitions or feeling helpless. We've seen the power of recovery first-hand. When the light comes back into a guest's eyes. When someone begins to feel connected again. When confidence starts to return. When families begin to heal. This is where people begin to find their footing and start building a life, they can be proud of on a foundation of recovery.

A holistic approach to recovery means supporting the whole person emotionally, physically, and socially while recognizing that each individual's needs are different. At Herren Wellness, our approach integrates movement, mindfulness, meaningful connection, life coaching, and life skills to help individuals build a more balanced and sustainable way of living. Holistic care does not mean the absence of medical or psychiatric support. We welcome individuals who are taking prescribed medications, and when appropriate, we help coordinate referrals to trusted psychiatric providers. Our goal is to ensure each person has access to the level of support that best meets their needs.

Herren Wellness is a private-pay program, which allows our team to focus on long-term change rather than short-term stabilization. Without insurance limitations, we can provide individualized care, higher level of confidentiality, flexible length of stay based on need, progress and readiness not coverage limits, and a more personal environment designed to support lasting recovery.

At Herren Wellness, there is no predetermined length of stay. We do have a minimum commitment of four weeks, which allows individuals the time to step out of their current environment, establish structure, and begin meaningful change. Beyond that, each person's experience is based on their needs, progress, and readiness - not insurance timelines. Our model is built around a continuum of care, beginning with residential programming and, when appropriate, transitioning into Herren Wellness Sober Living. This allows individuals to maintain structure and support while gradually reintegrating into daily life. Ongoing alumni integration remains a core part of this process, helping individuals stay connected well beyond their initial stay.

Residential programming is $17,000 per month, with private room options available at $20,000 per month. Our sober living program is $4,000 per month. As a private-pay model, we can focus on long-term outcomes rather than short-term timelines - providing individualized support, flexibility, and a more personal, real-life environment. We understand this is a meaningful investment, and we are always available to talk through your situation, answer questions, and help you determine if this is the right next step.

Daily life is built around structure, consistency, and connection. Each day includes a balance of group experiences, individual support, and time dedicated to physical and personal well-being. Mornings often begin with movement or reflection, followed by life skills groups and process-oriented discussions that encourage awareness, communication, and growth. Throughout the week, individuals meet one-on-one with their Life Coach, engage in family sessions, and are introduced to recovery support communities such as AA, NA, SMART Recovery, or Refuge Recovery. The environment is active and engaged, while also allowing space to pause, reflect, and reset. This balance helps individuals begin to build routines and habits that can carry forward into everyday life.

At Herren Wellness, we see family as an important part of the recovery process. We work to keep families connected, informed, and supported throughout their loved one's time with us, offering guidance, support and communication along the way. Visits are welcomed and encouraged. They typically take place on weekends, and we allow flexibility so families can spend meaningful time together whether that's a short visit or a full afternoon. We believe that maintaining connection during this time is not only important it's part of what helps people move forward and recover.
